What gun for what map?

Hi guys (and gals)...

What gun for what map?

The Dr has written a useful thread here on gun use, but I would like to know your opinions on what gun you use on each map?  Or are you like the majority who stick to the same buy routine everytime (i.e. Deagle, AK as Terrorist and M4 as CT).

I'm trying to get into my brain a different way of thinking for each map instead of buying M4 each time I'm a CT so...... :dribble:

What about the standard maps (de_dust2; de_inferno; de_aztec; de_train; de_cbble; cs_italy; cs_office etc) and the non-standard and match maps (de_contra; de_phoenix_steel; de_museum)

I would also like to know if any of you guys (teams) take buying as a team strategy or is too difficult to do that? :norty:

Rather than being a map-based thing, the best gun often depends on the current situation.
Most people tend to buy the ak47 or m4a1 because they are proper all-purpose weapons, suited for long range or combat indoors.

But if, for example, you're playing dust2 and notice that the Ts, when attacking, tend to group up and push through your team's defenses, it might be best to ditch the m4a1 for something with a larger clip, that allows you to just spray at the crowd at close range, like the p90. That can be useful, because even if you don't kill them all (you'd have to be really lucky (or Kreg) to do that), you have the possibility to at least wound several, thus making them vulnerable to nades and often causing them to disperse, thus rendering their rush useless.

Keeping this in mind, you'll soon know what situation requires what weapons, especially since not all people handle the same weapons the same.

OT: As BK stated, my gun decisions, are highly based on the situation, rather then the map, the map does come into affect, but not to the same extent..
And ofc personal preferrence, myslef RARELY buys, shotguns, scout, Galil/Famas and some more, but as stated its more dependent on the actualy situation, BK's example with Dust2, is a great one, if i think they might be rushing, they will be bunched up, and a P90 is a good gun there, (Its always a good gun tho)

I think a shotgun is useful as T in office, that and flash nades. The
P90 as rushing CT.
Need to think about other maps... keep thinking of assault but I can't drag that back onto the forums again. (or did I just do that ?:doh:)

I hate the scout and cant use it, so the AK47 or the lovely Bullpup (much underrated IMHO) for more medium long range. M4 is also cool but prefer with silencer even if less accurate and less damage.

Pistol no 4, the Nighthawk is my all time fave, when cash is low. It is good long or short range.
