Guild Structure

Switch's PM does raise an interesting point, one which I think we have touched on before in discussion about the management team and how we progress matters.   I'm just not sure if there is a sensible way forward on this one though particularly as there is a world of difference between Council's role and his current role for RGW.

Currently we can have a GM + 9 other ranks:

Guild Officer
Raid Leader
Raid Officer

RGT Member
RGW Member
Raid Trial

Social
Alt
Dog House

So we use all the ranks which is the first problem.  

Second problem is does Switch know the distinction between Raid Leader and Raid Officer?  Or are these better renamed as Guild Officer RGW (for Switch) and RGW Raid Leader (for Mario & Grim) to give more prominence to Switch's role?

Do we need Dog House?  Would freeing up the 9th rank allow us to change the structure in some other way?   Do we need to change the structure?

Im happy to give them powers to add/remove from the guild as long as the have an authenticated account

As for rank changes.... dog house is useful as we have found .... combine alt and social but i also find that useful.

If anything i would be tempted to merge Raid leader and raid officer. If we didn't need GM rank for permissions we would only have a single guild officer rank for the council. Do the same with them. I think the important part is we give RGW the same tools in the game

The next issue may be down the line but if we got a 3rd team or a pvp squad what ranks would they get. Just keep it simple. Maybe something along the lines of..........

GM - Holds the keys
Guild Officer - Oversees the running and direction of the guild (council forum stuff, moderation, direction)
Battle Officer - Oversees the running of official raids (all in-game tools and RL forum)
Raider RGT
Raider RGW
Raid Trial
Member (social)
Alt
Dog house
Spare


I want to keep both raid teams running in the same way, The tier system we have at the moment ie Council >>>>Leaders. Means less chance of drifting off and doing our own thing.

If we get more in on the council then we get too many chiefs

I like the structure as outlined by JAS.  It doesn't give Switch what he has asked for but keeps it simple and should work fine.

So we just drop the Raid Leader rank and keep Raid Officer then for all 3 of them.   That gives us the structure Jas mentioned I think?

I think probably the other thing I would do is go back to Switch and ask him specifically what he is after.   To my mind ( and I said it above), I'm not sure he knows he has the Raid leader rank, that they have the Raid Officer rank and what those ranks mean they can and cannot do.  Perhaps if we explain better what the rank is then he might be happy with what he already has!

I'm certainly not suggesting he has a Council spot though, he's been too hot'n'cold for that and I like the way the current 'Gang of Four' works together.
