Midd

I'm here as a friend of Milli (his old GM and Raid Leader).  I'd quit WoW at the beginning of Cataclysm, but am now returning and would like a decent raid guild to be part of.  Obviously because I haven't been raiding for the last expansion it's unlikely that the link to my armory will be of much help to you in deciding whether I can raid - but feel free to ask me anything else you think would help!

Questions for ALL applicants:

Please link to your armory profile : Armory link for Druid / Link for my old main (Warlock)

Are you applying for a Raider position, or Social membership? Raider.

Tell us a bit about yourself! Who are you? Kirk Where are you from? Kent, UK How old are you? 31. What kind of work do you do? Water Treatment Consultant

Tell us about your personality, and why you enjoy the game.  I like a challenge from my gaming and like online gaming (have done since UO), so playing WoW has always been a hobby of mine.  I took a break whilst my son was born, but now I have the time to come back and raid properly.

How long have you been playing computer games and what kind? I've been playing games since my Spectrum ZX, and have played all sorts.  My favourites being FPS, MMO, RTS and RPG.

There are other guilds on the server, why did you apply to us? I have a friend, Milli (Incendia) in game, who mentioned you, so I thought it was a good place to come back to with at least one familiar face!

What other guilds have you been in and why did you decide or were forced to move on? False Gods (Defias Brotherhood) - I was GM and ran the guild from Vanilla to Cataclysm, it had various names over the years, but that was the most recent

Who do you know in Dead Men Raiding? How do you know them? As mentioned above, I know Milli, and Adbard.  They've both been members in my guilds in a few games.

Have you read our 'what we look for' and 'philosophy' posts? What do you think of them? Yes I've read them, they make sense.  To be honest it's common sense really, but those kind of disclaimers are required to weed out the idiots ;)

What do you look for in a guild? Good friendly banter, skilled players, and a sense of belonging.  Along with a drive to progress.

Do you actively play any alts that we could find you in in case we need to contact you? I have an 85 of all classes except rogue and warrior.  Those alts are on Defias Brotherhood, but if you need to contact me and I'm not on my main, then I'm happy for raid leaders to have my RealID.

''Dead Men Raiding'' - What comes to mind when you see that guild name? .... Nothing particular comes to mind, as far as guild names go its fine...

What are your plans for the game? In what way would you like others to know you? My plans for the game are to get back into raiding seriously now I have the time to commit again, and along side this I will be playing BGs/arena as well.

Name one thing you don't like about WoW in its current state.  The fact that I'm not playing :P - or more seriously, the whole "Link achievement" culture annoys me, some of hte best players I've known wouldn't get in a PuG these days because they haven't already completed a raid.  Good players are still good players, regardless of achievement linking abilities.  Gold DKP runs can make terrible players have better achievements than good players.

A guildie says something you find offensive, what do you do? Be amazed... I'm not easily offended online. ;)

Cake or Pie? Both.

******END OF SOCIAL APPLICANT QUESTIONS******

ADDITIONAL questions for Raid Applicants:

Which evenings of the week are you available to raid? Sun - Thurs

Can you and will you speak actively with other guild members on Teamspeak and in guild chat? Yup

Do you have a stable internet connection? 100Mb cable

What sort of frame rates do you get when raiding? 60 fps with vsync on

What kind of raiding experience do you have? I've raided properly since TBC, have taken part in 40, 25, 10 man raids, on normal and heroic.  The only break I've taken was after first tier in Cataclysm due to personal circumstances.

If you are a cross-server applicant, name someone from your home server that can vouch for you. I can name Milli/Incendia who originally came from DB who will vouch for me.

If your armory does not show your intended spec then please make a template of it and link it.  My intended spec will change with the new talents, I'm happy to create one and link it, but I need to do a little more testing first, along with allowing the good folks at elitistjerks to do all the theory crafting for me ;)

Why did you decide to play this class?  I used to play a lock, but I wanted to play a healer and swapping dots for hots made the most sense.  I've also played a pally, a shammy and a priest healer, druid was my favourite.

What do you think your class' role is in raid content?  Healing and support.

Comment on your build. Why did you choose it? What do you think of other builds of your class? Why didn't you choose one of those?  Again, as above, I'm not commenting on builds, because as of tomorrow they will all be invalid anyway.  I've played the MoP beta extensively so have a good idea of where I'm going to go with my build, if you'd like a possible build created then let me know.

Milli

Glad you posted bud - gl with the app :)

Thanks very much guys, look forward to your response.  My hand is hovering over the "Server Transfer" button :P

Kirk, we'd like to have a chat with you on TS tonight please if you are available.   Can I suggest about 20:30 Game Time (7.30pm UK time)?

Details of our Teamspeak server can be found here.   Just pop onto the server and jump down into the WoW channels and ask for an officer if we have not already pulled you into our channel.
