ATI Chat: Wednesday December 3rd
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
We would like to remind everyone that Rage3D will be hosting a IRC Chat with ATi Hardware people next week on Wednesday, December 3rd at 12PM PST/3PM EST on irc server irc.progameplayer.com, channel #rage3d. If you aren't familiar with IRC, we have setup a page here which should help you out. You can also simply head to the Rage3D front page and click the "Chat" button in your User Panel. This will launch a Java IRC client and automatically connect you to the Rage3D IRC chat channel.

Our guests from ATI for the chat will be:
* Sireric (Eric Demers)
* Catalyst Maker (Terry Makedon)
* Patti Mikula PR for Desktop Products
* Vijay Sharma (Manager of Product Management for Desktop Products)

We have decided to gather questions before the chat so as to keep things going smoothly. If you would like to submit a question, please post it in this thread. Please note that this chat will be focused primarily on ATI hardware, not the catalyst drivers or other software, so try and keep your questions on topic in that regard.

It's sure to be an interesting and fun chat!

Well, thanks for the info, but I ask myself what the use is to go there?

Anyway, kinda cool to meet someone who makes my drivers :P!

This is more to do with hardware than driver development, but for example I would like to know what the progress is on moving the 0.13 micron process tested and now in retail production on the 9600, to the 9800.  And are there any plans to extend the 9800 speed when on the new process.

I suspect the answer to the former is Q1 2004 and to the latter 'yes'.  I'd wager the 0.13 micron 9800 Pro will beat the current 9800XT and will then overclock some considerable way.  It will be interesting to find out any snippets though......

Will I be there?  No.  I'm going out to watch a film instead.  But I have submitted my questions in advance.
