Why is this fight so awesome?

Georges St Pierre, the most dominant Welterweight in the world. That say's it all surely? But he does have his flaws. He hasn't finished a fight in quite a while and appears to play it safe. He is probably the most well rounded martial artist in MMA though, with great Wrestling, striking and Jiu Jitsu.

In contrast, Nick Diaz comes out to ruin people at their own game. He smashed Paul Daley, an English striker and one of the most powerful strikers in MMA, in a fight where he got hit with some massive punches and dropped, but recovered quickly and knocked Daley out with less than 10 seconds left in the first round. He has an incredible chin and some of the best boxing in MMA. Aside from that if the fight hits the floor he has an incredibly tight Jiu Jitsu game, where he submitted a legit black belt in Evangelista Cyborg Santos within seconds of being taken down.

GSP should take this fight, but I'm calling Diaz via KO.

The combo at 3:16ish in the first clip is superb. GSP, purely because he comes across as such a nice guy

Well, just a few days away and a lot has happened since I posted this!

Firstly, it was to be GSP vs Diaz and BJ Penn vs Carlos Condit. Then Nick Diaz didn't turn up to some press conferences, so they took him out of the GSP fight and put Carlos Condit in. Then GSP got injured so the new main event is Nick Diaz vs BJ Penn.

I'm in love with Ronda Rousey, UFC157 at the weekend was superb, the documentaries leading up to it with her and Carmouche and their different approaches were rivetting. The docs are free on ufc.com and well worth watching to understand where Rousey comes from.

Superb fight, superb finish, what a fantastic athlete.

The Grice fight was a war and the elbows that Faber threw were painful to watch. Good bouts worth watching if you like that sort of thing.
