Lots of people people work in jobs they don't like and I've done some really thankless ones in my time, driving vans,  clamping cars, digging post holes the list goes on. But if you can find something you love to do it can change the whole rhythm of your life. No more miserable Monday mornings when you now you're actually look forward to doing what you love. Being self employed means I loose the certainty of a regular income and over the course of the last few years I haven't earned anywhere close to what I did when I worked for a vast faceless conglomerate. But I've never done a photographic commission I haven't really enjoyed doing and I have been challenged by all of them. I'm finally coming to the realisation that I'm pretty decent at what I do,  people (clients) like my work and appreciate it. Getting an email saying "client has just seen your pictures and you made their day" is worth a lot.  I'd much rather be happy, fulfilled and basically solvent rather than be miserable and rich.

Amen :)

Whatever's gone wrong it's not my fault.
