The average lifespan of a base jumper isn't very long, but you've not got a chance of convincing them to stop. What they do is incredibly impressive and they're well aware of the risks, that's why they like it...but you wouldn't catch me doing it.

This is an interesting interview with Jeb Corliss.  He jumped with Dwain the day of his death and had to take avoiding action to miss his body, when he landed he was covered in his friend's blood.  This interview is after Corliss crashed in January last year.
