It is with a heavy heart that as my first post as Game Leader for Minecraft we have to inform all users of the MineCraft server that high value items have gone missing from peoples personal chests without their permission. Some of these chests were purposefully hidden and obviously owned by someone.

It should be quite obvious that this is not allowed on our server.

The server is currently run on a trust based system and a level of respect of people hard earned and painstakingly built property is expected.

Anyone found taking items or maliciously damaging other players' property will banned from dMw, our game servers and the forum for life as we view this the same as cheating. If anyone is unsure of the gaming standards then please read here: http://www.deadmen.co.uk/forum/showt...ming-Standards

The admins have deliberated hard about what to do on this matter, there is a genuine feeling of dismay that this is happening and we have decided to initially send this PM as a reminder rather than retrieve the server logs for full review.

If you were unsure of this basic rule and have taken items from chests without the owners express permission, then you should return those items without delay.

We do not want to start policing users or instigating modifications to the server to block actions, we feel this should not be necessary.

Basic rules of respect.

Peoples homes are free to view unless they have posted signs which say otherwise, we all like to show off our creations.

Building of mechanisms which can deliberately kill another player are allowed as long as a general "Risk of death" warning is posted along the way. Retaliation for any resultant loss of life is therefore not expected.

Items can not be taken from chests which are not obviously game generated or in pre-defined communal "shared resource" areas, unless they have permission from the owner.

Respect other peoples creations and do not modify them without consent. Mining into another players house deliberately is not nice, accidental entry should be repaired and a courtesy note dropped to the owner explaining what happened.

Client side mods or skins which give an unfair advantage over the basic game mechanics are not allowed, our server believes that all miners are created equal and that they should remain that way.

To this end and to make sure the rules are understood, all access to the MC server will be revoked from 23:00 on Wed 10th of April until I receive a PM from you saying you understand the rules and gaming ethos and will abide by them. You will then be white-listed again. If you manage to get a PM to me before this time you will not lose access.
