Thanks for the link. After reading the site thoroughly and checking a few other sites for a balanced view, it's clear that this is a serious issue.

Clearly you would have to be an idiot not to see the very serious implications these new patent laws will have on anyone who uses a PC and the Internet.

If someone had patented the concept of using software applications linked across the Internet for the purpose of playing first person perspective combat games, then there would be no Counter-Strike. Not a nice thought at all.

I'm sure there are some people so ignorant as to not feel the need to take this issue seriously. Lets hope there are enough of us who are sufficiently bright to see the dangers for what they are. Thanks again Sadako.

Duly signed. Do likewise.

All done. Agree with Smilo about the way this could develop and thanks to Sadako for bringing it to our notice.

Hurrah for common sense. Although a rabid capitalist, I do sometimes dispair of the way big business will happly tear something to bits in the name of profit.

I refused to sign, due to the fact that I disagree with class action as a form of protest.
But the idea is good and if the bill gets passed I will fund a legal campaign to stop it...

I'd argue that it's not a protest, rather a serious legal attempt to stop the idea ever becoming law.

But I take your point that I don't like a few people claiming to represent a majority view without any mandate from that majority.

I signed it even though if BT had got it 'Hyperlink' claim through my shares would have rocketed.

They didn't!!!

Therefore I signed!
