LTI & Alpha Access - Hull Upgrades

Lifetime Insurance for your hull finished in November 2013, ships bought after the cutoff had no LTI, but I know there are a few of us out there who have got LTI ship packages.    However, if you decided post-cutoff to change your ship, when you melted your LTI ship and bought a new ship you lost the LTI.

Now that Alpha access has closed, if you melt a ship package and buy a new ship package you again lose Alpha access.   If the package you melted was an LTI ship package you would end up losing both LTI & Alpha access, which seemed a pretty harsh deal for early backers.

Until now.

On Friday, Ben Lesnick dropped a nugget into the RSI chat room when he said that they had a solution coming soon.   The intention will be that you will be able to buy an 'Upgrade Pack' for your current LTI/Alpha ship package and that it would allow you to upgrade the ship within your package to a different ship.  

For example if you had an Aurora LN LTI package with Alpha access, you'd be able to buy an upgrade pack to change your Aurora into say a 300i and retain both LTI and Alpha access.

...and with that in mind, I'm still selling a 300i package with Alpha access at cost.    That's $5 cheaper than buying the package today and having to buy the additional Arena Commander Pass.
