Superfast Fibre Broadband

I've been impatiently waiting for fibre in my area and as wondering how others have got on with it and whether anyone else is also waiting?

I've been using http://www.superfast-openreach.co.uk/where-and-when/ to check and currently our exchange has been enabled but not my cabinet.

If your impatient like me you can find out which cabinet you are on using http://www.dslchecker.bt.com/ and then check project updates. I've also been keeping an eye on the http://www.onlincolnshire.org/ site which is reporting on the fibre role out across lincolnshire. They update the website with the cabinets that have been made ready.

Our ADSL line is staritng to feel the strain with my wife and kids all starting to use the internet more (Internet, LoveFilm etc).

We really struggle with it and only get 4-5mb at home. Better at the office (about 15mb) but nothing better available as yet.

It's a strange one as the cabinet in my village is set to ES (exploring solutions) but Fibre has been run into the village and I spoke to the BT engineer that was running it and he said the green cabinet would be installed in the next couple of weeks.  Never expected to get fibre here but so glad it's coming!

We had the same thing a couple of weeks ago. I'm hoping they get around to our cabinet soon. I should make an effort to hunt down the engineers and ask them directly.
