For quarter of the price of an nVidia GTX 980, I'm confused how they can do all this level. I suppose only time will tell if it's actually able to meet expectations.

this came out around the same time that nintendo nx was rumored to be using android. More than a coincidence?

In the video the presenter talks about Play Store Games service with full blown PC games recompiled for Tegra X1. So they're clearly trying to compete with PC (mid level not pro level) and the console market.

But, the processing isn't happening locally.  It's a cloud based service afaik.
