Cheers Monkey, i may still take you up on the offer.

I've begun stripping the rig down to give it a thorough clean, you really do not realise how much crap gets into each component. After reading more info from people with similar problems it could literally be anything!

I plan on stripping the rig right down to every component and cleaning everything and rebuilding to see if that helps.  I cant be 100% sure that it's the psu but if it still happens after a rebuild then that's the first thing I'll try.  Oh the frustration, I'll be afk for a short while

After some more tweaks, I now think it's a cooling issue.

My motherboard has 4 settings for the fans, ranging from power saver to turbo.  So over the last 4 nights or so I set the fans to turbo, i.e. Constantly running at full speed.  I haven't had a crash yet (touch wood).

Whilst it's not an entirely the most efficient way to run a rig or the quietest at least I can still play.  Now it's a case of figuring out weather it's the GPU or the CPU that is having the problem.

According to ASUS software I have installed, whilst in game my CPU is at 34 degrees and my GPU is at around 49 degrees, which I understand is reasonable?

So I'm still stumped :(.

Those temps are fine Sparko.
