Somewhat embarrassingly we have let this excellent work idle on our forums for a year, so I pulled my thumb out and posted it to the website, edited it to reflect the above posts and formatted it in Textile.  

Posting it was long overdue imo.  Thanks for your work here Paul, much appreciated.

Any comments/edits now need to be posted in here and we can then move them to the live document!

I notice that the ranks have been amended and no longer match the structure mentioned in the charter.  I was going to revisit the membership and move them around according to the last time they have been 'seen', but I confess that I don't fully understand the Alpha, Bravo, Charlie assignments.

ah ok, I thought that was your final intended!   It's not a problem, we can amend as much as we like.

Alpha, Bravo and Charlie has had some lengthy history within dMw, so there was I thinking it was a very clever use of ranks! It related back to our origins as a CS clan and then our involvement in competitive CS leagues. :thumbsup:  

Dead Men Walking

The 'Dead Men Walking' community aims to provide a home for players who revel in mature gameplay of all kinds. We recognise an individual's mature attitude, teamwork and fairplay above their skill level.  Dead Men Walking offers a multi-tiered approach to membership to match the varying needs of the individual players that make up the Dead Men Walking community.

Dead Men Walking - Alpha Company

Anyone who has successfully applied for access to our forums and servers is automatically a member of the community's Alpha Company.  Alpha Company membership gives you access to the Dead Men Walking servers, the Dead Men Walking area of the forums along with the opportunity to join us at our LAN parties.  Alpha Company members may also apply for Bravo Company membership. Alpha Company membership does NOT entitle you to use the Dead Men Walking gaming tag and you must not use it under any circumstances.

Dead Men Walking - Bravo Company

Alpha Company members who have demonstrated a mature and positive approach to the community (on both the game servers and in the forums) and have been trying to increase their involvement with both the community and TCS style of play may be invited to apply for Bravo Company membership.  If accepted, Bravo Company membership entitles you to use the -=[dMw]=- tag in your player name, wherever you chose to play.  This in turn helps us promote our style of play and further our cause!  Dead Men Walking accepts that Bravo Company members are allowed to be members of other clans/communities as well, but we ask that in such cases you only wear your -=[dMw]=- tag when playing on our servers.  Bravo Company members have access to the private Bravo Company Secure Channel area of the forums, advance booking notice for our LAN parties and can progress to Charlie Company membership if they meet the appropriate criteria.

Dead Men Walking - Charlie Company

Charlie Company members are committed to the continuing success of both the dMw community and its ethos.  Charlie Company members have demonstrated a mature and positive approach to the community and as such are valued by their quality as teamplayers and community members rather than by measuring their personal stats from the game servers.  We expect a mature and exemplary standard of behaviour from Charlie Company members at all times and in all places.  Members of Charlie Company are usually active contributors of quality content to the forums, regulars on our gaming servers and champions of our ethos. Charlie Company members are also eligible to represent dMw in competitive matchplay, however the wish to compete in league, cup or other matches is not a requirement for Charlie Company membership.  Charlie Company members have access to the Charlie Company Secure Channel area of the forums and the dMw private training, tactics and matchplay areas of the forums.  

Membership Criteria:

Alpha Company
Anyone can apply for an account on the forum and by doing so have access to the server passwords.  Registration in the forums automatically makes you a member of the community and the dMw Alpha Company.

Bravo Company
Membership cannot be awarded any earlier than 3 months after playing on the server for the first time.  The player must have consistently demonstrated good teamwork, knowledge of the appropriate rules and an active presence on the forums.  Nominations should be forwarded to the Section Head Admin and must be supported by a Proposer and two Seconders who are current members of dMw's Charlie Company. Such nominations are then considered by the Section Head Admin and decisions are usually given within 7 days.  As successful nominees are entitled to wear the -=[dMw]=- tag on non-dMw servers then members are reminded that the Senior Admins will consider all knowledge of the player including their attitude and conduct on all our gaming sections and on non-dMw servers and forums.

Charlie Company
Membership can only be awarded once Bravo Company membership has been held for at least 3 months. Charlie Company members hold the success of the community in the highest regard and actively promote our style of play wherever and whenever possible. Charlie Company members are expected to make an ongoing and positive contribution to the community. Membership of Charlie Company cannot be applied for: it is awarded to members by the Section Head Admin after consultations with the Senior Admins.
