But, without reading/watching reviews how does someone make their own minds up? going purely of whatever the companies are telling you? that's even worse isn't it? all you're doing is mindlessly following what one things is telling you - thus even less making up your own mind on things, getting as much info from as many different sources as possible is surely the best way, & by limiting which sources are able to fairly review products is something something I don't know how to finish this, in short, it's bad.k.

You guys are all the reviewers I need TBH. Wouldn't trust anyone else. :worshippy::stroke:

yeah i know where your coming from chaos, and it is bullying but these reviewers are supplied with the tech by the big companys, corsair, nvidea, intel, amd, etc with strings attached, so i'd expect rules and regs they have to follow,
i'm not saying what nvidea did was right, but i think these youtubers know what there getting there self in for eg, nda's embargo's etc

So Green are getting nervous that Red are hot on their heals.  Realising the only thing they have to really differentiate them now is RT and DLSS, they play the bully with a small fry reviewer (500k subs, now about 700k) because they only briefly mention RT in their initial review, despite them doing a dedicated follow up where there were pretty nice about RT.

It's been interesting few days and has probably gotten RT/DLSS a lot more attention. They way the initial email was written looks like it was always meant to be "leaked". I can't help but feel there is some marketing dark arts going down here and in the long run, by the time there's any stock to speak of, no one will care. But, the more stuff that's out there about RT, the more people might lean towards Green.

Or maybe I'm just overthinking it

RT 6800 XT is looking good for my use case :boxing:

If it's marketing it's foxed me, but I am very far from an expert. The fact that Nvidia picked on a reviewer for no other reason than they didn't like their review has more or less decided my next Graphics Card manufacturer. Ethics and behaviour are as important as price and specs.

Whatever's gone wrong it's not my fault.

Agreed, if this was a publicity stunt I only came away from it thinking even worse of Nvidia. Ive watched HW Unboxed for a good few years now and I don't think this type of caper is something they'd involve themselves in. Plus it's not the first time Nvidia have short changed them (sent them turing FE cards late also). So I think this is deffo a personal gripe.

Sneaky, I urge you to start watching "some youtube reviewer", they are not under NDA's they are all very honest in their work and yes they are all under embargo's so they can all do the required testing ahead of time and all can release the results at the same time.

Making your own mind up based on Nvidia's or AMD's marketing nonsense is foolish. IMO.
