Things are lining up nicely.   Nice new AMD CPU and motherboard package to be bought.  Just the decision on GPU to be made - and AMD launch their new GPU on 28th October.   CPUs go on sale with good (allegedly) supply on 5th November.

A great month for gaming.

Mmm, well my only reaction really was that the prices of the CPUs seem high. I am a bit out of the loop with regards to the norm, though.

Looking forward to the reviews, and even more so for the GPUs...

Personally I think my 8086K and 1080Ti will probably last me this generation, I don't really find my set up lacking just yet (in most situations)...but its always fun to see whats happening and to think about the next upgrade, either way.

£550 for a 10900K as a comparison, so I think they're in the same ball park I think.  My PC hasn't been upgraded since I built it in 2013, so it's time it had a little bit of lurv!  The only annoying aspect is that this launch is not Zen 4, as that would give socket stability for a few years.

I'm in a similar boat. My build was 2014 and my 5820K i7 (GTX 970) will likely be the fps bottle neck for a 3080 or perhaps an AMD equivalent. That said, I game on 1440p so I'm probably losing about 10% of the fps. Probably not a bad upgrade to give this 6 year old rig a couple of years before the next big rebuild. I'll have to see if any benchmarks have come out yet.

i'm running a 6700k intel at the moment, question is, do i stay with intel and get a 10700k or go with a amd 5600x?

From the many YouTube videos I've watched recently the 5600x and 10700k are similarly matched with the 5600x looking slightly better for gaming on some titles.
