Hi all,

I purchased some pc upgrades which should have been delivered today but I only received one package out of two. I had to use a one-time passcode that I gave to the driver but only received the lesser of the two items (cost 15£) the other item missing cost roughly £150, I spoke with the customer service bot (not a real chat person) and said it was undelivered, the bot said they will send another one out tomorrow and if the original one comes in the mean time to refuse or return it. I'm just wondering if anyone has had this problem before as it seems a bit odd for the bot to offer replacement straight away without talking to a real person.

seems odd on a higher ticket item to offer this option, although I am pleased as I have had trouble with previous deliveries in the past to other addresses where they have said they have delivered an item but haven't and said that there is nothing that they could do and I would need to contact the police.

it's now somewhat put me off purchasing from amazon and I have another delivery coming later this week for some ram.:g:

Loss of stock during the delivery system is a known problem and most couriers have processes in place to deal with it.  Instead of letting the experience put you off Amazon, can I suggest an alternative perspective?   Be happy that the retailer has a system which so quickly resolves a problem that they know is not yours and go shop with them again.

Consider what could have happened.  The retailer could have said you received the package and it is your problem not theirs.

This is what scares me that could happen the next time this happens

It could happen with anyone you order anything from that then gets delivered.  So are you going to stop shopping online completely and never have anything delivered ever again? No? Then accept you have been unlucky you suffer a two day delay in the arrival of your goods and be thankful the retailer sorted it out so quickly and with so little fuss. That should at least give you confidence to order again!

Skip the Amazon bot mate, on the chat Window there's a button at the bottom to speak to a person.

Amazon have a policy to automatically send a replacement out as long as you can jump through the simplest of hoops, then claw the cost back from the vendor, so pretty rare you would lose out, and hence no need to talk to a person
