Nice little article here about how MS is trying to get people to keep IE patched. I particularly liked the quote at the bottom (the last line is the killer but you MUST read the preceding paragraphs first to get full effect)

QuoteLast month, net users were told to avoid using Internet Explorer because of a loophole which could allow malicious hackers to take control of a computer.

The US net watchdog, the Computer Emergency Reponse Center (Cert), and the internet security monitor, the Internet Storm Center, both issued warnings about the flaw in IE.

The warnings appear to have been heeded, with statistics from analysts WebSideStory suggesting that millions of people were switching to alternative browsers.

aye, but as we know even mozlla had to patch. (it was still an MS bug, but moz had to protect its users against it)

as they get bigger, so does the target for exploiters etc.

ppl need to learn to update, which i cant see happening.

Im still waiting for an auto update for firefox...
