We know that one of the biggest benefits of TCS/TCZ is the passworded servers and the protection that gives us from frag whores who will ruin our game.  However the password is a double-edged sword which makes it more difficult to get sufficient numbers of players from our own community online at the same time to get a good TCS/TCZ game going.  It is also apparent that within our community, when there is not a TCS/TCZ game already running, the majority of our members will go to a CZ server rather than a CS server to get a game.  With this in mind the Admins have decided that the following changes will be made:
  • Homer will be made a Public TCZ server
  • Razer will remain our Private TCZ server
  • You can see all of the server IPs and passwords here
  • we are reviewing an AMX mod that redirects you to the other CZ server if one is full
But - and there is always a but - if this is going to work then we have to make sure that:
  • we always go to the dMw server first (and idle there if needed - be a martyr!!)
  • we continue to promote team play and TCZ rather than the public deathmatch style of play
  • we transfer to a private server (TCZ or TCS) when we have sufficient numbers (we have collective responsibility here)
  • we continue to promote the benefits to others on our public server of registering with us and getting the password via the forums to grow our community membership
CS/CZ players are creatures of habit.  So let's make it our habit that to check the dMw servers first.  If we actively promote our public TCZ server and always join it first then we will always have a game going that you can join.

The Admins think that CZ is the best game with which to trial a public server as it appears to be the preferred game currently and the CZ community seems to be sufficiently developed.  A post has also been placed on the Hi-Velocity forums to promote our servers - they're small forums compared to ours, but we may see some feedback.  Please welcome any visitors!

Enjoy!

I think that this is a positive move. I personally don't play 1.6 anymore and CS Source isn't fine tuned enough yet. CZ is where it is at.

I would personally like to see a bit more late night gaming on DMW but most of you old folks seem to pack it in early. Perhaps with a dMw CZ server I can do my part to help the community grow late at night...
