QuoteJust thought, my keyboard mapping is weird so this may be of limited value other than showing my layout :-(

I just cancelled my order for that keyboard!!! Cause I found the mouse and keyboard with free delivery from amazon.co.uk for £49. They retail separately for £60 + delivery so I thought, why not. I've not bought any pc stuff for ages and a bit of comfort whilst playing my favorite game is worth a bit of cash.  8)

Indeed a bit of comfort is worth the cash, thats why i splashed out £140 on an office type chair.

I got my new toys, but it's like getting used to somethnig totally different.
Sort of like getting say, new false teeth, a false arm, a glass eye. There are too few buttons on the claw so it will take a bit to get a good setup. The mouse is a heavy thing, ball not light sensor and the scroll button doesn't click, insteead the 3rd mouse buttong is next to the thumbs resting place.

BlueBall, how are you getting on with it?

sheepy

i like my thumb buttons on my mouse i have my voice comms on it.

Sheepy appears and begins to stroke my head. According to his slurred drunken speech I am "lovely and like a fuzzy felt". Thankfully he soon leaves and passes out somewhere. [/quote]

I got an MS 5 button wireless mouse which I like. The Nostromo I am really starting to like. It has taken a couple of weeks to find what button settings I prefer and to get used to using it. I'm sure that it would be better if I set it to use the thumbpad to move but I'm just too used to using the mouse for movement and can't "untrain" myself.

Stick with it, it will start becoming useful but it will take a while to adapt to it.

Yeah a mouse to move and aim is essential if you ask me. I have the Thumb Pad directions set as the change weapons buttons and crouch just now but it is tricky to keep crouch held down so I'll be changing it.

The annoying thing is you have to allocate a button to a shift key in order to use it whereby using up one of the valuable and scarce buttons on the thing. I think I like the feel of it though. The mouse also feels really good too and is damn accurate. The reason being is it is heavier and bulkier than my current mouse. so in time I may play better with it. So far I play a bit with the new setup and change to the old for serious play cause I'm still better that way. I actually had to send back the mouse first time round cause there was a loose object shaking around inside it. So I received the new stuff today so will keep trying.

I think one of the everglide mats and wrist thingys will be my next purchase since it was pay day yesterday!!

I received my Everglide mat and skates, the mat is incredible  :D  the skates I'm sure I've seen in a 10m roll down B&Q for £2.99, what a complete rip off! Can't believe all the hype about a bit of 3M tape. £3.50 for about 20cms of tape that in all honesty must have cost 2p to manufacture, in fact it probably cost more to have the bloke at the factory cut the 20cms off a roll and put it in a bag. My mouse also slides around just as well on the superb everglide mat, without the damn skates.

Another thing that is p*ssing me off about my new gaming hardware... (Blueball this concerns you more)
The Belkin n50 game claw has a bloody bug where if you press 3 of the buttons simaltaneously a fourth is also activated. So I am sneaking along on CS, crounching, moving left then press forward to go diagonally, and my quick wepon button is activated.    every time, so I look at the config screen for the n50 and sure enough I press 3 and the fourth lights up too. Plus it does the same in 6 or so other combinations of 3 keys.

I send an email to Belkin support, the reply is no fix will be supplied for this bug, the physical makeup of the keyboard causes this to happen not the software so it is impossible to remove this "feature" as they call it. I am in a huff!

I am now trying to remap my keys as a work around. I really like the item a lot so dont' want to have to send it back, I've sent it back once before as my mouse was faulty.

I hope my XBox lives up to my expectations.  :?

Hot tip:

I use the wheel for crouch or walk. Basically, pull the wheel back and leave it, you stay crouched, push it all the way forward and leave it and you stay walking instead of running. Means you don't have to hold a key down :-)
