Problems after todays update

I had problems restarting Steam after todays update. It worked OK when it first started but then I exited and when I restarted it it failed with network problems. To fix this I deleted the blob file and tried again. This time it worked.
Thought that if anyone else was having this problem they might like to know the cure.  :D
I do exactly what the little voices tell me to.

PC Specs:- Black box with some fans that go whirrr, a few lights, things inside that get warm, headphones, keyboard (a clicky one), mouse (with buttons and no squeak), disks (2-off SSD and HDD) and a monitor of sufficient proportions.

mine was similar it worked ok the first time but when i cranked steam up again it would only start in offline mode :angry:
so i saved my "steamapps"folder and reinstalled steam and the pasted my "apps" folder back in and it works a treat..10 mins tops. :D

there was a problem with the login server last night. Didnt effect anyone already logged in. But i think it borked ppl that were updating, or at least it did me.

Had the same problem, but just rebooted and worked fine
