Over the past year I have really got into audio books...I commute 3 hours of every working day so my iPod is my best friend at the moment! :)

Anyway - been trying to convert other people to this format, because I think it's so goddam relaxing. You can listen to the stories at work (if your boss allows headphones), in the car travelling and at bedtime. I find it really chills me out.

I get my 'books' from Audible.co.uk which has a really good deal. You pay a monthly subscription of £10, and for that you get to choose two books from thier whole library for free...

This can be a terrific deal - for example, I chose two books which came to £74! But got them for just the £10 subscription!

Audible have stuff for everyone - history to crime, classics to relaxation stuff.

At the moment I am listening to Julius Caesar's 'Commentaries' (I know this sounds dry - but honest this is a terrific book, and if you are interested in military history you should get this!)...This is great, as the BBC are running that 'Rome' series at teh moment so it makes for an interesting comparision about the character of Caesar.

If you have an iPod (or similar MP3 player) I highly recommend you try out Audible (you can preview snippets of books before you buy, and also buy them individually - you don't have to subscribe).
