BF2 vesrion for LAN

OK...

You may have noticed the exciting annoncement on EA's site that the 1.03 patch to BF2 is almost ready...

HOWEVER, will it be out in time for the LAN?

Best guess is that it will be Wednesday when it is relased, all well and good. But we know how things are delayed.

...And if it comes out Thursday or Friday will everyone wanting to play BF2 at the LAN have enough time to download it and test it?

The last thing we want is a mix of patch types.

So - here's a suggestion, tell me what you think.

If the 1.03 patch is released on or before Wednesday, shall we say that's the version will be played at the LAN (everyone should have enough time to download, install and test for teh weekend).

BUT - if the patch fails to arrive until Thursday or Friday - shall we stick to the 1.02 patch to ensure everyone is on the same version.

(The only other way I can think around this is for someone to burn the 1.03 patch to CD and to bring it along to ensure that those who havn't got it get it!)

I imagine someone will have it on there PC, in which case we can probably burn it at the LAN. There is a good chance we will have net access as well  (as in the past 2 lans) so I dont see any problems.

Probably best to say 1.0.2 and upgrade to 1.0.3 at the LAN if its out.

If 1.03 is issued by Thursday night then we will run 1.03.  That's the posted cut off time for the patches and updates and also corresponds with Steam update releases.
