I've decided that my Aero7 Heatsink/Fan combo is sh!te (using Whitey's words) as I still get overheating issues and regular shutdowns.
My office is quite warm which likely doesn't help much but I had my neighbour's PC in and it ran between 8 and 10degrees cooler (AMD64 3200, std HS/fan).

My mobo is Asus A7N8X-E, CPU is XP 3000.

Any recommendations for a good HS/Fan, £35-£40 range.

Also, the Aero7 is noisy as hell as it has a small fan, so anything quiter would be great.

I've got an Aero 7+.  Got it cheap, because on an uncustomary visit to PC World I found it mispriced and now can't be bothered to swap it out.  My graphics card fans drown the noise it makes anyway  .

If I were to replace it, the thing I'd go for is the Thermalright SI-97.  Available from overclockers for £31.67 + p&p - if you choose a nice quiet (>35cfm) 92mm fan to marry it with (a SilenX for instance), it should keep things very cool and peaceful indeed.

If you can find somewhere that will sell you the SI-97A that one can be used for Athlon64 cores as well, should you decide to go down that upgrade route.

Ive got a spare brand spanking new heatsink and fan that came with my AMD 64 Processor, i have no need for it because it is a spare it still has its bottom sealed and is in perfect condition and has not been bought of ebay, but overclockers.co.uk. And your welcome to it if you want.
