If this is ready before the Lan are we going with it or leave it incase its buggy ?
That Squirrel looks Impressive

Nope cos we'll be buggered either way.  People will inevitably be online, so if an update is issued we'll get it.

We'll have an internet connection at the LAN, so if things go tits up then at least we'll be able to download any hotfixes.

What I suggested in teh Bravo channel was that we come up with a 'cut off' date...

I got a reply saying that there is a update/patch deadline for the LAN of Thursday night...

BUT - as we BF2 guys well know, there *could* be problems (remember 1.01?)...

I think a more realistic cut-off is Wednesday night, so we have Wednesday AND Thursday night to check the new patch for bugs.

...OR...Alrenatively, we just afree to go to the LAN with the 1.02 patch.

I personally think the 1.02 version will be fine for the LAN - anyone any input?

I think the safest thing to do is if the patch is up Thursday night and you manage to download it, keep the .exe knocking around on your hard drive but don't install it.

Then if anyone else at the LAN hasn't managed to download it in time, there should be a few copies in the room available to be leached.  We can take a collective decision on whether to upgrade when we're all hammered.

Job done. ;)

SO what's the decision then? ;)

I vote we all get drunk and play strip oil down, it's a hybrid of strip poker and oil wrestling.

I agree with the getting drunk and nominate Ranger to wrestle for the BIG fellas.

Speaking of which, been a bit quiet in here today - he must have found some work to do at last!

smite

I would go with Download it whenever it comes out and if it has issues it doesn't take long to uninstall and re-install a game....just remember to bring your discs.

Weighing in at about 175MB, the patch is scheduled to come out tomorrow. So keep your eyes peeled on FilePlanet so you can get it while it's hot.
