Grew tired of Wake very quickly as this was played to death on Desert Combat but the other changes are great no more death via tank brushing up against you or from jumping out of jeep and touching the damn thing.

Got promoted to Sergeant in about 30 secs so they have made point farming an even greater waste of time and naming the capture points on the mini map beats them all. No more their "at the thingy over by the tall building"

Really looking forward to Special Forces for those infantry only maps, not too sure about ziplines though.

For those of us that played 'Joint Operations' Wake Island is very familiar ground...

It's a different arena - that's all I can say. Something different for the LAN.

Although it does give scope for more hidey places! LOL

Yet to check out some of the more important patch features - Had a quick glance at the 'Favourite Server' feature, dunno how this works yet but it should be useful.

Wake Island is best played NOT as ASS I think (the shape of the island lends itself to multiple landings).

Good fun last night. :)

See ya all at the LAN

I liked the little touches ie

-improved fire and explosions
-sounds for vehicles and some guns
-labelling of locations
-when you press m key, your little circlular map opens out to large one

Whats missing for me:
-haven't addressed bunnyhopping/dolphin thing - which I'd have thought is easy to do (relatively)
-the support weapon is still pretty poor damage wise

I didn't get the chance to use the AA but its supposed to be a lot more accurate vs air which is cool.

I liked the map, its a bit different and it looks like a great place for a vacation ... hmmm.  :)

Its getting better though, and its nice that DICE are developing it and listening to its users.
