Hi guys - I am having several technical difficulties at the moment...

The main one is my loss of mic - due to a conflict of settings I am having trouble resolving.

Last night I was unable to give warnings to my squad-mates on several occasions about hazzards I saw, and as a result they got killed.

Many apologies for this - it was very frustrating for me too.

On the up side - as somone pointed out - at least you don't have to listen to me yammering on! Unfortunately I think normal service will be resumed soon! ;)

Again, sorry about my reduced team partisipation at the moment.

(You don't realize what a big impact the loss of voice comms has until you loose it. I can't imagine how I used to play tactical Ghost Recon only a year and a half ago without ANY VoIP at all!)

Is this on the famed H5? I've just got my RMA and hope that I just got a duff one and it's not a regular thing.

Its odd, but I haven't had any problems with mine (well if you don't count that time that I changed a setting in my sound options and couldn't speak to anyone). It just works.

Hope you have better luck with this one doorman - feel kinda bad as we suggested it  :(

The last thing you should do is feel bad.....don't! Decisions are made based upon things you read from more than one source. If I thought that the kit wasn't right for me, after    not only your input, I wouldn't have bought them. I live in hope of a happy outcome.

It's a soundcard problem Doorman - currently I have onboard sound, a Creative LAbs card AND the 5H USB soundcard thing operating...

As you know my 5H was working perfectly UNTIL - that was - I started messing around with some of the settings in some of teh audio control panels one afternoon!

Then it stopped working - and I now cannot find in which one of the soundcards I made the adjustments that stopped things working!

I *think* it may have been something to do with the 7.1 surround settings - but am not sure. Am having to get a techie friend of mine to have a look!

:(

Yep, same thing with mine. It was working fine until for some stupid reason, I changed a setting in my creative labs options. I changed the setting from 5.1 to 4.1 (god knows why). I then went into BF2 everything sounded fine, but then I noticed I couldn't hear anyone talking but they could hear me. I went back out changed my setting back to 5.1 and voila everything worked again.

*mental note: do not mess with things if they are working!*  :dummy:
