BF2 keeps crashing

Lo all........upgraded my memory this a.m. ( had 512 before but added another 2Gig )

Anyway......loads up ( real fast compared to before !! ) and runs in medium settings lovely.
And then randomly drops out of the game and the game shuts down or bluescreens.

Have done the following :-

1. Download Memory test from Microsoft and beasted all possible combinations of memory ( 512,2.5Gig, 2 Gig ) ....all pass
2. Uninstalled/re-installed game and patch multiple times
3. Uninstalled/reinstalled DX9.0C
4. Tweaked memory BIOS settings to all settings
5. Run original config that worked in low res
6. Disabled HT in the BIOS
7. Checked power connectors/reseated video card
8. Combinations of above

My system is a Intel 3.0Gig,Radeon 9800XT

Is there any diagnostic that might help me out there ?

try a re-patch to your BF2...

it seems to have sorted a lot of probs for some people

Do you have BF2 and SF? if so you need to install BF2, then install SF and then install Patch 1.12. If you install patch 1.12 before installing SF then once you install SF you will need to repatch. By the way the server seems to think you have modified data:

I think i have it working............BUT

I can't get on the dMw server......i can get on all others i have tried

I get the message ( or something along the lines of ) "The server only allows you to play with unmodified content. Revert your game to the standard BF2 installation"

This is a clean install with the v1_12 patch applied and i have made no changes....


HELP !!!!! ( big kiss for the first one to supply me the answer  :dribble: )

I don't have SF........i installed game and then the patch......no other changes made.

I seem to be ok now ( re-installed patch - for about the 17th time today)

I had the same problem at first m8. Weird isn't it that you have to install the patch that often before it finally begins to work.  :angry:
