As normal I have joined the first guild that asked me  ;)  well it's nice to be wanted.

But as with every other guild it's just used as a chat room. does anybody belong to a guild that I can join and actually does something?

DuVeL

I don't play WoW but I know that [TG] have a guild. Maybe having a look there is worth it.

[QUOTE]Cheesepuff...A cyborg is sent from the future on a deadly mission. He has to kill Ninja_Freak, a young Man whose life will have a great significance in years to come.Ninja has only one protector - DuVeL - also sent from the future. The Terminator uses his exceptional intelligence and strength to find Ninja_Freak & attempt to terminate him.

You need to decide what you want to do before deciding on a Guild.  I think it's fair to summarise most guilds as either:
  • Raid Guilds
  • Social Guilds
  • PvP Guilds
  • Combination of the above
Pure Raid Guilds are usually only about 60 members, all L60 and there are very tight rules on when you have to turn up to raid with penalties for not being there.

Social Guilds do just what they say on the tin.

PvP Guilds specialise in Battle Grounds and spend all day in the queue for AV ;)

Combined Guilds I think are the one I enjoy the most. Taking my Guild, Silver Oak Guardians (on Aszune), as an example we have 4 official raid nights per week (to MC, BWL, OL and outdoor raid bosses like Azuregos and the Silithus Lords).  We do smaller raids to ZG on an informal basis most other nights.  We also have a PvP section and a core of people who like to PvP when not raiding.  We then spend time helping other guildies level up etc.

Decide what you want and then ask some of the established better guilds who they know who is good at doing what you want to do - that way you'll come up with a short list of guilds to focus on.  Get to know some people in those guilds, party with them where the opportunity arises and then when you know a few of them, apply to the Guild for membership, making sure you know what they need from raid members.   For example, SoG only recruit for raiding at the moment and their requirements can be found here.

Join "Argh Crap Leggitt!!"
It's a fairly small guild that when confronted by an enemy normally panics and runs away.
