I recently acquired an XP-M 2500 (thanks TL/dMw! :D) but as my current motherboard doesn't support multiplier adjustments it would be stuck at 6x multi...which would only be good if I was underclocking it! I have as a result ordered a new motherboard with overclocking facilities...what are the chances of my XP install surviving the move to such a different pc? I already noticed that using the XP-M chip causes issues with some programs not working properly...

Would I do best to buy a new hard drive and install onto that / use that as a backup? Or would I maybe be able to somehow ghost my XP install, or at least the program installs, to a new harddrive. Basically I'm not too keen on losing all my current installs etc...

I guess I can back up steam and BF2 profiles/files/patches but if there's a quick and easy way... :)

take a word of advice from some one who tryed something similar.

YOU NEED TO REINSTALL

it just doesn't work properly otherwise

Sheepy appears and begins to stroke my head. According to his slurred drunken speech I am "lovely and like a fuzzy felt". Thankfully he soon leaves and passes out somewhere. [/quote]

No you don't. See here. I have used this technique more than a dozen times now without a problem.
