Its much like the topic said.
I notice that a lot of times a new person joins he wins the nicest stuff.
Personally and i think for most ppl this is rly annoying and not fair (for example today backblock won the head of ossirian, the 3 mage books and an epic chest which was the first drop). It was his first run and some mages would ahve rly liked the frostbolt book and the head (yes i am 1 also so i am  a bit biased here)
I very much would like to see a system where there will be some priority based on attendance. I am no expert on it so i will research it a bit more but i would ppls ideas about it.

Another thing is do we limit loot till a specific number?
Cause in the example mentioned the mage won 5 items thats a lot and personally i think thats not fair. We could set an example say 2 then only after no one needs it. Just an idea and for it to work it should be worked out more but i would like some feedback about it.

I think there is a lot of sense in loot priority, but it is inherently more difficult to manage and will inevitably put alts off joining the raid if it lowers their loot priority, so it needs a lot of care if such a system is introduced.  You also need to decide who should have priority and that is a quite difficult thing to do.

I'm at work at the moment so cannot write a long diatribe on the subject, but I think yes something does need to be done as Backblock (nice though I am sure he is) will inevitably get his Arcanist from Molten Core thus spending his DKP, whislt RG1 needs to upgrade damage and specs to the absolute maximum for BWL, so the loot has probably not been distributed to best advantage and whilst the roll itself is fair, the general gifting process of that many epics is not compared to the effort and turn out for the AQ raids - and whilst I am not a 100% supporter, I do my best and admit to feeling a bit miffed when someone gets the Ossirian head over say one of the regulars.

One thing I am already clear on is that recipes and skill tomes should I believe be prioritised through RG1 first and then down to RG2.  A frostbolt book that drops to Backblock for example will actually cause more damage to RG2 than benefit.  I guarantee on his next run into MC he will cause way too much aggro because of it and the raid does not actually need his 'extra' spell power to down the bosses.  RG1 on the other hand needs every single bit of DPS and stats it can get especially as many RG1 already have a large number of Tier 2 set pieces already - almost all mages have 6 of 8 T2 pieces now.

Now for something slightly more contentious.  Recipes (for enchants and items etc) I strongly believe should be prioritsed to those in charge of the Guild.  This may sound selfish, but what happens if a rare enchant drops and then that person leaves RG2 to join their friends in a Nowegian guild or to Righteous as 'they asked me and RG1 had no places for me'?  The reason that in 40 person raids those drops are prioritised to those in charge is because those very same people are the least likely to leave the Guild and take the skill with them.  So for recipes and enchants I think it is foolhardy to hold an open roll for everyone, I think the roll should be restricted to just those in charge: Field Marshalls, Marshalls and Commanders in this case.

I'll think on the rest during the day - and damn, this turned into a diatribe already :(

I think you are correct teaelle, im affraid that the frostbolt will cause more damage than good for rg2.. Backblok is a nice guy, but from my observations he isnt the best at managing his agro and that book will just make it harder for rg2 tanks to keep agro over him.. And i can totally understand what you mean by the recipies.. they should prolly go to the ones in charge to make sure it stays in the guild..
And yes in my oppinion we need to do something about 1st timers getting so much lewt over regulars.. but the only way i see it to stop is by implementing a dkp system or something similar.. which would make a lot more work out of these small instances, lots of stuff to consider.. if we implemented a dkp system, would it be both for aq and zg or seperate, which kind of dkp system would it be, sum zero or standard we use now.. then we will have start making the dkp for all items... Well the loot list for ZG AQ20 and AQ40 ive been working on was almost complete until thottbot decided to mess around with their item DB so will have to start over, which i dont have the time for atm..
And a dkp system might scare of those who dont turn up regularly, as it would put them lowest,... ive made a lot of thoughts about this the last few weeks and talked a lot with luna and menedil about and we will continue this later..

Recipes/Plan and enchants etc are easy, you just restrict those who can roll unless all those in charge already have.

The other loot might maybe benefit an easier system than DKP.  I'll think on it.

I agree on this point. But i would like to add 1 more thing. Atm i know of 3 enchanters who are a commander. marshall or field marshall (maybe deadly also which makes 4). Since we have 4 i would like to spread out the recipys over those 4 cause you never know what RL does and if someone (for example TL) gets all the enchants and due to RL (maybe a car accident) cant be online for an extended time we also loose the enchants for a long time, if you spread it out a bit you wont loose as much that way. Just some rambling from my side.
