Yesterday evening one of the Officers was whispered by an anonymous alt (no doubt created for this purpose) and a torrent of verbal abuse from the alt was delivered to the Officer concerned. The language used and the comments made were on any scale unbelievably rude and ill-informed.

All such incidents are a breach of the Blizzard's Terms of Use and as all characters and conversations are a matter of record on Blizzard's server logs we reported the matter to the GMs for them to deal with. They GMs responded promptly and dealt with the incident. Their options as described to us were to either (a) issue a formal warning to the player concerned, or (B) to issue a ban (temporary or permanent).

Please be aware that if we identify ANY member as guilty of taking such immature action there will be immediate and severe action taken by the Officers against that member.

The Officers put in many long hours running this Guild and its raids and we would suggest that very few people understand how much time and effort goes into running a guild this size, with two raid groups and regular 20 man raids. Being an Officer is indeed a privilege, but it's not a paid job, it's done for the love of the game and the Guild. Such loyalty and investment of personal time for members' benefit should never be rewarded by vitriolic, anonymous and cowardly abuse.

If any member has a problem then by all means PM an Officer to discuss it in the first instance or post it on the forums. Otherwise, let's keep this Guild the happy place it has always been.
