Soldiers in the raid

We need to decide once and for all, if we want to consider having soldiers in our raids to fill up, or not.

Personally my opinion have always been that if it keeps the raid from being called, fine. We have done the whole molten core including Ragnaros with 33 people, so i dont particularly see the problem with us having 5-10 soldiers in the raid. Ofcoz i dont see us having 5-10 soldiers in BWL, but its all about us setting the rules for how we want to use them, to make sure our raids is running.

So someone dont want to give them "free" loot. Well you can just set a rule that lets them have 1-2 items or whatever we want. Remember that we are relying a lot on RG2 for BWL since our attendance has problems, and we will not be able to do that in the future with RG2 starting BWL monday, so the topic is more interesting now than ever before.

If we dont want to consider having soldiers in the raid, we are gonna have to look at the attendance again since last night obviously showed that we still have problems

My very simple view is that I do not want to wet-nurse 13 ill-equipped, poorly experienced and lacking DPS Soldiers through a 2hr 15 minute MC run and turn it into a multiple wipe, 4hr 30 min MC run where we don't even manage to clear the instance.

Sorry, but I think we need to stand tough on this one.  Yes I damn well want to raid, but no way do I want to be going through it with some inexperienced liabilities.

If you raid MC with a noob group, for me personally and I suspect for the vast majority of RG1, all it will mean is a big repair bill and double the amount of time spent on doing what is already an intensely boring instance.

Such boring and expensive runs do not encourage and motivate RG1 members, it demotivates them and makes them more likely to be one of the ones who do nto turn up next week.  They will deliberately use their 1/6 misses for the MC night as it is so long and boring.

I say we stick to our guns here.  RG1 is RG1.  We do not pull in Defenders as they may be needed for RG2.  We do not pull in Soldiers as they are ill-equipped, poorly specced and a liability to RG1 at the speed we go.  In addition they might be needed to help RG2.  But they do NOT belong in an RG1 raid.

If RG1 cannot field an RG1 team, then RG1 should not raid.

If RG1 experiences attendance problems then demote the *******s who do not turn up and recruit fresh meat.  Then we get to raid again.

I could not agree more.  For far too long we have accepted Defenders and Soldiers into the RG1 raid, this has been the norm.  Well now that RG2 is going to BWL then we no longer have this option.  Times have changed and I personally am no longer  prepared to carry such dead weight.  When RG1 raids it should be RG1. Period.

My 2 cents.

Are you then prepared to up the classes to 8 if THAT is what it takes?

Yes.

Do I want it to happen that way?  No.

I think we need to make an action plan to see how we can make the attendance come back. Personally i dont see 8 guardians pr. class either but we are still lacking some person in the different classes like warlocks f.ex.

So maybe we could make a plan that would satisfy our needs and something we could measure more than just a talk

Here's an example:

1. Fill the open guardian spots, actively not just waiting for the applications
2. Measure raid attendance, give warnings, and demote as needed
3.
4.

Deadline being end of july, and all officers need to work on it, not just the ones actively recruiting or this wont change

We are talking a lot about the RG1 attendance, and if want it to change .... here's your chance.....

THIS IS NOT A PROBLEM THAT IS GOING TO SOLVE ITSELF

After today I'm away for 2 weeks, I'm back on 6th August and should be online for the BWL raid that Sunday night if I am not too jet-lagged.  So if you want a deadline at end of month then you'll need to conclude things without me - I'll pop onto the forums a bit to say hello, but intend to make my holiday a proper holiday including a break from both WoW and the forums!
