Whisper and other Abuse

This topic is posted in marshals forum cause it affects both RG1 and RG2.
 
Now, this problem seams to be getting way out of control lately, and i think its time we start taking some drastic actions to show ppl that this crap isnt allowed in SOG.
 
Now i was thinking about this and came up w/ the following.
 
1st time: 1 week ban from all raids, demotion to penalty box for duration of ban.
2nd time: 1 month ban from all raids, demotion to penalty box for duration
3th time: 3 strikes your out, no more raiding for you

Agree Bastet this is going out of control.
 
I think you suggestion is good and a good way to do it.
 
But who will make the decision if someone do harassment or just talking in a odd way?

We might want to add, that evedince is via screenshoot, as we cannot take action only from the words of others ( tho some people's statements are trustet 100% :biggrin:  )
 
Otherwise I like the 3 time system. If one does it 3 times I guess the point has been made, and they are out. They shouldnt even have a 1st time.
 
But to do this kind of sanction, we have to be 100% sure what happened (screenshot). Then contact the person involved, have a chat with him, and explain why.
 
We just need to make a set of rules, announce them on forums. Then theres no excuse for not knowing.
 
But what should the ban be used for. Flaming, loot flaming, general misbehavior, bitching and moaning about everything?

well id say marshals for RG2 (defenders) and field marshals for RG1+ (Guardians, and soldiers)

It is seriously dangerous to start issuing bans for whispering as there is huge potential for an officer to make a subjective decision about something and ban someone in the wrong circumstances.

Harassment is harassment, if someone harasses another member then if we have proof then you can challenge the behaviour, but without proof you can do nothing other than issue a general reminder to members about standards of behaviour.

If we do challenge behaviour then we need to discuss each case and its evidence here in the forum before acting.  Only then can we come to a consensus view.

The other important thing is consistency - this means that RG1 officers should be involved in both RG1 and RG2 discipline.  The FMs carry the can for the whole Guild and therefore should have a handle on both.

Beeing an officer I dont get too many whispers "OMG you nuub why you take that" and warriors seem to be ok with the dkp system for loot so SoGwarrior ain't spammed with ppl begging for passes.

But the main problem as I see it, is ppl passing or backing down when this stuff happens. Why vould you stop /w OMG you newb  if you get the item by dooing so?
Put upp a post saying that:
We do not want ppl backingout due to harrasment, but taking a screnshot and sending a link to it on a PM to an officer. Who wil then have a chatt with the person.

And  dont come whining to me saying "The man said mean things to me ,so I gave him something I REALY wanted. Now I feel so used and regret giving the item to the guy that I don't like PUNISH HIM:yell: "
Come saying  " When I took this item , and this guy became abusive here is a link to the pic (evidence)"  and I'l have a look at the pic , determine if it was abusing or mere anoying and have a polite chatt with the person . Moest persons don't like others to see  when their behaving like prics , and we don't need rules to allow /gkick griefers .

We do not need a thread posting rules on "You are not alloved to whisper ppl rolling on loot OR ELSE" .  We all get hott headed when we feel we could use the items better then the guy rolling for it.

I don't think the system Bastet mentiones here is a bad way of dealing with it. Though I see 3 strikes as one too many, it might be nessesary as it gives more room for clearing up missunderstandigs.
Maybe giving room for a 5 day investigation period or so where the accused would be suspended from all raids.
Some of you might remember that this is exactly why and what happend when Warsshan left.
 
As for some criteria:
I would consider an unmodified screenshot in it's original format a valid form of evidence.
If evidence of abuse is presented, it should be investigated and dealt with by the Field Marshals.

first a bit off topic, which program do you use to change the default format of screenshoots to .jpeg? (freeware) (png -> jpeg)
 
OT - I still think this system would be a good idea, when all via forums are informed, it will have a preventive (spelling) effect towards those who would consider these actions.

In case somone missed my point.:blink:

I do not want a 3 strike system  (there is a big bully over the pond using it).
I do not want any system.

I want them to either thoughenup or take a screenie and send it to an officer .

The officer wil then share it with the other officers if he thinks it needs looking into. And we wil then decide what to do induvidually then tracing over finger down a list and gooing  "Ah! 3rd strike , kick him".
This is not a system but how things should be done without us telling ppl what to do.


You want a  woording here goes:

If somone is bullying you over loot or whatnot, and you can't handle it. Send an officer a link to a unmodified screenie.
If you are bullying somone take a screenie of it whit the whole conversation in it so your victim can't make you seem voorse by scrolling avay his harrasing you or taking things out of contacts.
PLS DO THIS WITHIN A REASONABLE AMOUNT OF TIME.
The officers wil then doo what we deem nessasary .  :eyebrow:
