It may be loading much more information as well as exchanging info between client and server. Remeber these are two quite different games

do you mean logon or load though? My pc takes an age to load up CSS the first time I join the server, but after the first map it seems to speed up loading quite a lot...? :)

is there a possibility your PC is just getting old? Or is this a recent developement? i.e. did your computer ever load up CSS quickly? CZ is a rather simpler game engine. CSS generally puts a lot more strain on the system.

My load times are high too... No idea why...
Sometimes it changes maps in no time and other times it takes forever...

Check for rubbish on the your hard drive, run CCleaner, and then defrag it. It might help and it certainly won't do any harm, unless your hard drive is on the way out and the extra activity pushes it over the edge.
I do exactly what the little voices tell me to.

PC Specs:- Black box with some fans that go whirrr, a few lights, things inside that get warm, headphones, keyboard (a clicky one), mouse (with buttons and no squeak), disks (2-off SSD and HDD) and a monitor of sufficient proportions.
