the way the bots are currently configured on boomer was to advertise the server and to draw people in to it. Tonight is the 3rd tim in the last few weeks that I have found a couple of people on the server and no bots running and I feel this is less likely to draw newcomers to the server.

Thoughts please?

A 3v3 can still draw people in, anything less and the bots should be on (IMHO). :)

Thats pretty much what I felt. In which case:

Who keeps leaving the bots turned off? :)

I kicked the bots tonight when it was 4 or 5 per side and they were on the server (and paying NO attention to boundaries lol :ranting2:)

Does that mean I booted them for good... ? If so then I'm sorry.

if your leaving switch map, map reload pulls back the settings from the server configs, thus adding bots once again.

I'm not sure TBH. there are many ways of removing bots:

bot_quota 0 is one
bot_kick (I think) is another

not sure about the ramifications of each but as said a map restart SHOULD sort the bots out again. However, it doesn't seem to. I pledge to investigate and report back :)

Well afaik if you use the mani admin menu kick all bots option they will reapear the next map, never used the other option so wouldnt know on that one.

I use RCON for removing the bots. It works better then Mani but when leaving the server it does need to be reset with bots because using it through RCON they don't come back.
When there are only bots on people do tend to join sooner.

To clarify: I use(d) the Mani system.
