Folding / CSS challenge from MM..... :)

Hi,

(was unsure which place to post this CSS forum or here but this seemed best so here goes)

I guess you all keep track of the EOC stats and may have noticed an ominous red MicroMart-UK team approaching behind you Some of you may know Spike (or Spike09) our top FAH guru from various other places - he gets around alot...

Some of you may have been to our forums or even read the magazine (as in Micro Mart if you haven't guessed!). If you do then you'll also know we have gaming clan too, well a community clan, who mostly play CSS. See where this is going. (I am one of the clan leaders incidentally so this is all 'kosher'...)

Well if the numbers stay as they are (and I see no reason why not at our end ) then we will be slipping past you in the Team rankings in about 2 to 3 months. So we (well Spike suggested it) thought it would be fun to offer you the chance to have revenge on is - in the form of a CSS match (or 2..).

I'll say straight off we are pretty crappy as teams go [but are improving] so you'll walk all over us I'm sure, this is all just for fun (much as the whole FAH ranking thing is...).

At simplest we'd just like to challenge you around the time we pass you in the rankings but at the best we'd like to organise a big(ish) event to promote online gaming and (mostly) folding to all sorts of people sort of a big promotion match. Get the magazine involved things like that... and any other names we can thing of

We are currently coming up with some ideas for making it a cool event (that is if your up for it). So far we have things like: making it a sponsored event, getting it shown on src TV etc, making it an actual Lan Party, making it a semi tournament. But we got plenty more ideas coming in

So the question is.... would you be up for a friendly little 'revenge' match? and would you be up for making it a big thing to promote FAH (to the gaming community)?

You all seem like fun guys so were hoping you'll say yes

Hi Tom,

Although we've played CS then CZ for many years we are fairly new to CSS (like yourselves). Consequently it would be a good idea to have some fun - we could learn from each other and believe me we need the practice. Additionally, promoting FAH to a wide audience is also very worthwhile.

In short, thanks for the offer, sounds like fun. Our "main man" for CSS is Whitey so I'll step back and let him agree dates times for the matches but given the nice approach you made I can only see our two groups having fun.

Very nice of you to drop by. As suggested for a match or so, I'll await Whitey's reply but I think it's a nice suggestion!
BB allready coverd alot in his post so I wont retype.
 
Must say that I'm interested in a match because I both like CSS and also do like the Foldingpart (which can be done at the same time on a computer).
 
Welcome to the forums for now and by registering to this forum you also got the password for our Fridaynightsessions of TacticalCounterStrike (TCS), you can find the PW in http://www.deadmen.co.uk/forum/, I think you'll find it a most refreshing way of Counterstrike (more objective based).

Yeh I was reading your site earlier and it sounds good fun. We always try to play tacticlly (well to the objectives) on our server neway. It really annoys me (well all of us really) when on a public server someone suggests a tactic and most people ignore it and do their own thing

I'll definitely pop by and give it a go

BTW, we try to play TCS also on our Publicservers (not passworded and open to all) but sometimes it might be a tad non-TCS because of the publics but we have quit a few admins and such watching/playing...

Currently a semi temp server because Micro Mart themselves are taking ages getting their acto together to give us a free server - so this is self funded

In very short time we will be getting a cool new server from the mag but till then this has to wait.
