I'm currently reading this book called "We need to talk about kevin" by Lionel Shriver. It's quite disturbing/harrowing going, not a nice story at all, but I think I'd recommend it as it's definitely well written, but it's a bit of a blow to the psyche.

Probably not one for people with tiny kids or those who will soon have kids or those who want kids soon... it might put you off the idea:mellow:
