hi.
I just want to get some inputs on my lock.

some tips if i should respec or just do some other changes.
So that i can do better, my gear isn't to good tough.
and after last night raid i got thinking. just want some feedback about how i did and what to do better. but had a blast as first time in kara as a lock.

I see your talents are a mix of Affliction and Destruction. Imho it's better to specialize in one of the two if you want to maximize your damage output; both Affliction and Destruction require different gear and play style.

Affliction is pretty much easy mode. Keep your DoTs up, spam life drain and use nightfall procs for shadow bolts. Gear wise it's simple as well, just go for +(shadow)damage and stamina. With this build you can go on DPSing forever and you won't die easily either, since you'll have a shedload of HP and constantly self heal. (full HP + life tap = unlimited mana :norty: ).
 
Destruction is less boring, in the sense that you need to push more buttons :narnar: . Go for the fire spells and get a mix of +(fire)damage and +crit gear.
 
Keep in mind, I don't have a max level lock atm; so this is all the advice I can give. Hope it helps .

tough in my mixed spec atm i got improved SB and stuff, dunno how i did last night tough. was on spiritus at one fight and vanguish had to log for work. any tips about mods? auto curse thingies? i've made myself a dot macro.

Depends on what you want to do with it really..
If you're raiding with the lock I wouldn't recommend Destruction as the primary spec, mainly because its based more on high crits, which is a nice way to get aggro..

Most of the high-end raiding locks have Affliction as spec as far as I can see on armory.. I wouldn't go for it though, but thats just a personnal thing as I find it boring :g:

Im just running around doing PvP on my lock, so can't really say what you want for raiding.. Destro was fun in pvp, but once I get close to a rogue/feral druid/warrior I can't do much as they either interrupt my fears, stunlock me etc..
At the moment Im demonoligy which is quite nice imo.. luv the felguard.. its like having your own warrior

Gearwise, sandrion pretty much sums it up (although Im not much for the firedmg thing - Id go for overall spelldmg and shadow)
For raiding i guess the spelldmg/spell crit mixture is the way to go, while in pvp you want loads of stamina and the mix that with spelldmg..

Addons, I don't have any specific lock ones, although there is one called Necrosis around which keeps your Shouldshard things (summons, SS, HS etc) collected and gives you more room in your actionbars


Keep in mind, Im only a parttime lock so Im not an expert either

I recently respecced to affliction again after a short period of being a demo (40)/destru lock (21). Both are fun to play imo. I mean spamming SB's that crit for 4800 is nice to see. Personally I didn't like the many resists on bosses after a 2,5 second cast (have +90 spell hit rating) which crippled my dps a lot. Dots & drain life are easier to re-apply after a resist because of the instant cast. Dark pact simply rules. I hardly have to use mana pots during fights.
 
Necrosis is the only warlock mod i use atm. Very usefull for keeping track of your dots and the time remaining before they run out.
Still looking for a dot macro to make my life even easier .

and i start to get the like of the affliction spec you all are speaking of:boxing:
tough i like my hybrid spec also, specialy when my SB crit for 3,5k+
and thats with my curent gear. so now my issue is, shall i keep my curent spec(witch i also like for pvp) or shall i go full affliction?? :blink:

Just random? use this also for pvp, and nice to have hp regen fast.
can alter it if you want. i don't have my dots with casting time in it, so you can say it's my "running and dotting macro"

Working fine Spiritus, thanks for posting. Changed my cast sequence in order of duration.
 
Corruption, Unstable Affliction, Curse of Agony, Siphon Life.
 
After casting this i can do 2 x drain life (corruption will have run out by then) on the target before recasting the dots.
 
Corruption also triggers the shadow trance effect so it is nice to cast that first.

for mobs i would recomend having a look on cast time on dots also. so you might wanna cast one dot with long cast time first.. but just an idea
 
edit: i'm not gonna respec atm, gorion was happy with my current dps. wohoo =)
