Just arrived home after a 40 hour party that included a Metallica concert in the middle. Damn - they're good! For a guy who's been a fan since the beginning (well, sort of, got exposed to Kill 'Em All and Ride the Lightning in '88 as a kid and that defined music for a long time) this was awesome . Mostly old stuff, Welcome Home, Jump In the Fire, Search and Destroy, Battery, Master of Puppets, One, etc. etc. which was great! :yahoo::yahoo:

I take it the other guys who here who saw them in the UK had the same setlist?

Top 5 concerts all time!:dribble:

I'm quite glad I saw them years ago when the black album was released, before they went totally craptacular & just churned out junk, but it sounds like they played some nice stuff for you.

Their recent Wembley gig was a far better performance than what I've seen before.

Plus ****ed people falling over and being "helped out" makes an evening:roflmao:

They were awesome at Wembley. The only downer was that they had metal sheets covering the grass, which combined with a few beers (on the surface of the metal as well in us) resulted in a messy mosh pit, people falling all over the place. Still fun though!

Oh and another downer was the support acts. The sound was crap for Mastodon until they played their last song. Machine Head were great but could have chosen some better songs, Clenching the Fists of Dissent is waaaaaay too long for a 30 min set and Take my scars isn't that brilliant compared to other MH songs. HIM got boo'ed and Bottled.

Saw Metallica at Download last year and they were even better in Wembley. (Although they played the whole of Master of Puppets at download which was ACE!) When they played The Memory Remains it was awesome, crowd sang without the band for about a minute, was intense.

Im sure they sold out in like 5 minutes?

lol kidding and its not even my own joke ;)

good to hear you had a great time :D

Yeah Metallica are great, loved the middle stuff and the early stuff isn't bad, later stuff is meh but not terrible. I have to say i enjoy Megadeth more recently as they aren't so clichéd and i love the slightly different sound.
