Blunt

this afternoon I was listening to Victoria Derbyshire on radio 5.

They played a recording of a 999 call by a man who's wife is in labour.
It was the most moving piece of radio (or anything else) that I've heard in a very long time.

The recording of an emergency 999 phone call is HERE  (8mins. Real Player needed unfortunately)
or you can read the story here  (I haven't read this yet)
Regards
Blunt

I remember when Alison (the wife) was in labour with Katelynne Knowing that it was also going to be a quick birth aswell (actually took about 50 mins from contractions to meeting my daughter..

I was having the nap the wife came into the bedroom half on landing and woke me up saying baby is comming..

I reach for the phone and call my uncle to fetch Olivia (first born now 4)... I gets out of bed grabs a ciggy on my way to the toillet for a slash...
grab some towels as my uncle walks in i mumble something about not messing the leather up and that i had just cleaned and massaged the leather put towels and waterproof seat cover over conditioned leather and then go back for the wife help her in the car....

Blaze through the village and town (about 130MPH i kid you not) never get out of 4th gear (two more to go on the alfa)...

Enter carpark to hospital sideways and flick it the other way to get to back of labour ward.. nearly knock a student doctor over, jump out tell hime to get me a wheelchair the wifes giving birth and its messing the car up..

get her into delivery suite 10 mins later i'm stairing at katelynne, wait until both are safe on the ward then went for a cuban got back to car which was still steaming and tyres very "mushy" (had to replace all 4 and only on a single 7 mile run :norty:)..

Got rid of the towels and car seat in nearest bin...

drove car home picked up Olivia went back in the morning...

i think for the 3rd one it will be an ambulance the jag is half leather half suede and i really dont want those juices on the seats (i have heard stories of that stuff rotting the interior of a car)
Are you going to come quietly, or do I have to use earplugs?
