Interesting. I just wonder how hard it is to type with the 10 finger system when you don't feel the keys. :g:

My thought exactly.

Seems a nice idea....that will never get off the drawing board. Who wants to spend £1000 (a rough guess I've made at the price) to get a high res panel which will almost certainly be terrible to type on.
The screen specs are high, the response has to be VERY fast, even I can press 2-3 keys a second while casually typing. If theres no tactile feedback you need the letters to come straight up on screen/light up on the keyboard as soon as you touch them.
I think it'll only hit the market as a cut down [Think iPhone size] pad which you can remote your computer with. I don't mind being proven wrong on this one though because it would be cool to have a more customisable keyboard, changing layouts between games, showing the sliders for the eq's of music programs, showing status bars etc.

AL Tried the OLED keyboard a few years back and the only one that went into production was the three button one (i think it ended up costing 200 quid per key)

with this concept you could have an OLED TFT touchscreen with feedback, which is like an electronic pulse kind of like the new touchscreens in the merc's and the Jags (i think the viewty has something similar using the vibrate pack of the phone). so this wouldnt be too expensive its just a clever way of using existing technology, I have followed AL's work over the years and would actually like to see this come to fruition as i was well prepared to pay the odd £2k for the OLED keyboard so wouldnt mind paying for the TFT one which should retail at about the same price as a current OLED monitor (my SZ2XP/c Sony uses the same tech but without the touch element and the whole lappy only cost 1800 and that was 18 months ago)
Are you going to come quietly, or do I have to use earplugs?

I tried a projection keyboard a few months ago, didnt really cause a issue, you quickly learn the positions of each key

Interesting concept, but i can't help but thinking it's reinventing the wheel really. What's wrong with a normal keyboard and as stated previously, it helps to feel the keys maybe it's even relaxing! :narnar:
