BTW;
On our workcomps we have Speedfan installed to see what is heating up.
The program is freeware and has some nice features. Might be interesting to use for you aswell.

NP, I used on a computer that kept flying off alot and decided I wanted to monitor the heat within the case. You can also adjust your fansettings and so if anything needs extra cooling.

Dr Sadako

What the other guys already said. Dust both the fan for the CPU and the GPU. Had a similar problem with dust clogging the CPU fan.

Done all that...but still having same prob..

Thing i noticed is that the gfx card gets very hot when the pc is freezing, but not that hot too quit...

When playing games on my PC, they suddenly freeze (usually after a few minutes), and a high pitched squealing and beeping can be heard, i cant seem to work out this one

Do you have a 7900GTX graphics card by any chance?

I think BB is having same thought as me. The squealing means your card is not getting enough power. It is a built-in acoustic warning in the cards. Mine is a 7800GS bought from BB and mine did this as well until I got a new PSU. Your powersupply does fade in performance with age. Do you have a better one to swap with, to check?
