25 person Raid Template

Hopefully the below will help focus and clarify exactly where the gaps are 25 person raiding.  Use the below and insert the names of those you know wish to raid into where you see them fitting in the raid.  I have set the list up to how I might see a typical raid, but remember that raid composition can vary, but most are very close to this template.

Tanks (4)
can be made up from prot warriors, feral tank druids (not cats) and prot paladins. but it is suggested no more than two feral druids and one prot paladin

Healers (7)
generally more than one resto druid is not that useful in a raid as there are not that many tank targets to keep rolling lifebloom stacks up on.  Numbers and make up of the healer camp vary depending on the fight, but this is a good base to start with.

Melee DPS (5)
this mix generates massive dps.  Swapping Arms for a Fury will reduce overall raid dps.  You can swap Rogue3 for a cat to boost dps, but the cat needs to be very good to make up for the lost rogue dps

Ranged DPS (9)
this is the most fluid group in terms of numbers and you can often raid with 3 or 4 mages, 3 or 4 locks, 3 hunters etc

the above 5 group together perfectly for a very high dps party

You can obviously change this type of template around depending on who you have available etc, but try to use it as a base for who you have and where you feel you need to upgrade or spend time recruiting. If you make changes to the template just go through the usual questions of how it affects party dps, what changes does it bring to buffs and what changes will it bring to raid dps etc - nothing is cast in stone!

Just so you know, I considered the raidlist where people said social or raids.
Some people were present yesterdays raid so I thought they might've changed their chars.
And as I said, its for editing, so keep the feedback comming, or edit it yourself

Ill have a look when i get 5 mins and just put peoples mains down .. Putting alts in is useful for flexibility but just mains will highlight what we need to focus on

Bump & pinned so we can keep it updated and move forward.  

Out of interest, last week I did a PUG Gruul and Magtheridon with predominantly alts from Elysium, Sora, Genesis, Postal and a few other guilds.  All the encounters seem to have been nerfed (Maulgar less so, Gruul a little but Magtheridon a lot).  Even if we lack people I think we need to phs forward - filling up with  PUG friends if needed.

As an aside, we decided to recruit another mage in Sora so I am likely to be able to get the odd night off which might allow me to help out directly on what is normally a raid night for me.  Otherwise I'd love to see us push for a single night when I am not raiding to have our first kill attempt on Magtheridon - on a nnon-raid night I can usually get enough people from other guilds to make up whatever numbers are needed.
