Yep, I already got it forceable installed :(

I bought it through Steam (silly me...)

Oh well, guess it wont take to long for the servers to update :)

Because of the fact that there is no server executable for windows we had to ftp the files to the server. Sometimes, that means that patches wont install. I am going to try the patch on my own server first and if that takes OK then I will patch the dMw one. In the meantime, DO NOT PATCH to 1.7 as our server is 1.6 until further notice (but hopefully not for too long)

Unfortunatly Steam didn't wait :( I have disabled autoupdate for now, but won't bother to downgrade unless it doesn't work. (And quite frankly, i have NO idea how to downgrade steam-games :narnar:)

Good news, ran the patch on my server it works a treat. Will patch dMw server now and report back when done (about 15 mins I hope)

Our server is now patched to 1.7

You MUST have the version 1.7 patch to join. You can get it at fileplanet and dozens of other locations

I'm downloading 2 patches right now.
Large ones though...
 
I'll try the server after that.

yup minor changes only:

This is the new Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare patch that will bring your version of the game from 1.6 to 1.7 and fixes a number of bugs and exploits.        
      There are some small tweaks in this one, including:
- Fixed an exploit that allowed players to access certain console dvars during multi-player matches.
 
- Fixed a crash that could occur when a Chinatown Sabotage match would go into over-time.
