Hello Dead Men Raiding!
heres an application from me, sorry for the wall of text but you asked for it!

Me IRL:
I’m Camilla from Denmark, age 23. I study Marketing Management in Odense (where I also live â€" together with Zamrak, my bf.)
When I don’t have my nose buried in boring theory I work part time in a store that sells designer stuff, and I volunteer at 2 concert halls â€" for any Danes, it’s the ones called “Posten” and “Jazz house Dexter”

I have a few hobbies I spend a lot of time on, the first is cooking (and of course I have 375 in cooking in game as well!), and the second big one is Photography. I’m currently trying to get some of my pictures released and put up for sale â€" so that might result in me having to go AFK for a while. I hope to make this, if not completely, then partly a way of living.

In December/Start Jan I’ll have tons of exams and other boring stuff â€" but after mid Jan I’m working on my Graduation Project while working fulltime in the store (which means more time for playing WoW, basically)

The stats (of my computer and internet, not me )
I have a very stable Internet connection, its 10mb down/1mbit up. The only disconnection issues I’ve had is when I’m stupid enough to push the “hard to reach” button
The specs of my comp is: Macbook Pro â€" With Max OS X.
2,4 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo, 2GB 667 MHz DDR SDRam. I generally have about 40ish FPS during raid â€" with al settings on max.

Me in game(s)
I generally don’t play that much computer, besides WoW. I have a few games for PS2 and Xbox360, but I rarely play them.
I guess I’m more of a gamer hang-around â€" I like the people and the geekyness of the talk. I don’t care much for talk about makeup and latest clothes…I’d rather play a nice board game or something like that.

When I play, I play games like: Sims, Civilization (Where I always choose the culture path!), Heroes of Might and Magic 3, random puzzle games (with Puzzle Fighter as my favorite), Viva Piñata…and eventually Unreal Tournament when I feel like nuking something.  

My raiding experience: I used to be a hardcore raider in “Original” on Shadowsong. They were racing against another guild to be “nr 1”. After approximately 8 months of raiding I decided to quit hardcore raiding and started playing, with a few IRL friends, on Aszune.
Eventually joined AUE (when BC was released) and raided Kara, Gruul and the start of SSC.


Guild list:
I’ve been in quite a few guilds, but of the latter, on this server: An Unknown Entity & Lemmings of the Light*2. My biggest problem with guilds have been me wanting to raid, but the guild not being able to give me that opportunity/demanding me to raid fulltime â€" or the guild simply dying. I’ve left Lemmings of the Light recently because they couldn’t provide a home for Zamrak too.

I've never left a guild due to a fight or something like that, its mostly been because i wanted to raid more (or less) or because the guild fell apart.

Do you actively play any alts that we could find you in case we need to contact you?
I have a huge list of alts, but you’re most likely to find me on either:Parvaneh,Amedina, Metyle or Ellywinkle.


What are your plans for the game? In what way would you like others to know you? Tell us about your personality, and why you enjoy the game.
Name one thing you don't like about WoW in its current state.
I would like to get my chars to level 80. I have two characters that I consider my main and my “first alt”. It’s my priest and my paladin. I’d, of course, like to start raiding ASAP but on the other hand I don’t want to rush through everything â€" I would like to find a nice balance.
I would also like to experience Northrend on a “more than casual” level.

Personality wise I’m a chatterbox and a babble-head. I rarely stand back for the opportunity of a snappy comeback or a quick comment, of course always with the respect of other people. I enjoy an environment where there is room for jokes.

I hope others will consider me as a nice and helpful person. I strive to act towards others, and I would like to be treated. This means helping out where I can, and always being polite and with a sparkle in the eye. I’m always honest, although I might sometimes choose the diplomatic way of saying things. But if I have an issue with somebody, I’ll try to solve it instead of letting it boil up, affecting the whole community.

I consider deals in game as important as out game agreements, and I strive to always fulfill such agreements. If I’ve signed up for a raid or said I’d do something, I will do my best to get those things done. That may either be getting ready for a raid or helping out a guild mate.

What I don’t like about the game. Hmm…as a shadowpriesti'm not so impressed with the nerf of VT â€" but I think what I dislike the most, is that I thought I ran out of content way too soon in BC â€" can only hope that its better in Wrath. I like to play my alts â€" and I didn’t think Outland was that interesting at the second time I played through it, as the first.
I’m also hoping for more interesting Bossfights â€" and more original fights too. (But it looks like they’re thinking about it for the expansion)

Opposite others I actually liked the Plague thing. I’m a huge fan of Zombie movies so it was rather funny to see it “work its wonders” in game. It was, of course, annoying to die ten times in a row â€" but overall I enjoyed it.

Concerning the gear: it’s a mix of healing items and dps items â€" because I needed the manaregen when boosting low-level friends. (I reckon the gear itself isn’t that important, with Wrath coming out â€" I just mentioned it so you knew there was a thought behind the odd mix)

Why did you decide to play this class?
I decided to play a priest because a group of friends needed a healer…I began to like the class a lot so I decided to level her to 60, later 70.

What do you think your class' role is in raid content?
I consider holy priests as being a great raid healing class. They can, of course, do single target as well â€" but with renew, flash heal and group heal, I personally think they’re best for raid healing. (Although the Druids have gotten nifty AOE healing now!)

Concerning Shadowpriest I haven’t tried the new spec in a raid situation. Before I thought they were great as a support class due to the manaregen, but with the inc. nerf I’m not so sure anymore. My first thought is that we’re “just” another DPS class now.

Comment on your build. Why did you choose it? What do you think of other builds of your class? Why didn't you choose one of those? (Important question)
My current build is to try the “new” shadow spec. Its not that thought through â€" I choose it in order to test the new stuff. It will probably be redone very soon, to get for instance Spirit Tap again.

During my “career” I’ve been both a healer and shadowpriest. I haven’t tried a discipline spec, and I must admit that I haven’t had time to check out the new holy spec fully yet. But my first impression is good.
I don’t think there’s a useless spec when it comes to priests. There isn’t a spec I prefer over the others either.

What do you look for in a guild?
I would like a guild where the community is important; where I can have fun while playing the game I enjoy so much. But I also like to progress, without spending all my spare time in front of the computer. So basically I look for…well Dead Men Raiding.

''Dead Men Raiding'' - What comes to mind when you see that guild name? â€" I first thought of the movie, actually (Dead man walking). But I also link it with something humorous, and as a “we will not give up”/”we’ll take on any challenge, even if our chances are small”. To me it’s something funny and positive.

There are other guilds on the server, why did you apply to us?
Because I like your philosophy and the fact that you want to progress, but still would like to have a RL next to it. Furthermore I appreciate that you have a lower age requirement.

I found your post on Aszune forum and thought it sounded interesting. I was hunting for a guild that could combine both, and the more I read about DMR the more I liked it.

Basically I'm looking for someone who wants the same as I do, judging from the material about you â€" it’s a match ☺

I have read them, and I agree with your mindset and philosophy. I furthermore think I can match the “what we look for”. It was a pleasure to read something that was well thought through and wellwritten.

Annoying questions

A guildie says something you find offensive, what do you do?
It depends on the situation. If it’s a personal attack I would probably try to solve it via /w â€" if that couldn’t be don’t I’d talk about it with an officer.

Cake or Pie?
Hmmm…I think I’ll say cake â€" although I’ve had a lovely Almond Pie…My favorite is a carrot cake with choc, hazel nuts, ginger and raisins! Nom!
