given that when I was weighing up between an 8800gt and a 9600gt and the 8800gt eventually came out on top over the various reviews I read (similar performance in the majority of games but the 8800gt trumped it here and there) I'd probably go for the 9800gt. Have you checked out reviews that include the games you like to play at the resolutions you play at?

no peanuts

I have the 9600GT 1GB by Palit .  Review here (first one that popped up in google)

I am very pleased with the card. But then again, my last card was a Nvidia GeForce 5200 FX :roflmao:   compared to that card anything is an improvement.

At the mo, I can run CS:S @ 1920x1200 all settings maxed out hitting 100+FPS and more quite easy, and that is with the GPU client running. :D

I ran the crysis demo at 1920x1200 all settings on high (not very high, as i was running DX9) AAx4  and turned the shadow's down, and it was just about playable.  It runs fine with shadows on, as long I disable AA, but looks nowhere near as good.

Have launched COD4 with all settings maxed and it seems smooth, allthough  I dont know which framerates I was getting. (can I check somewhere?) World in conflict also runs smoothly which is another game that works your card hard.

This isn't the best card out there, but more then enough for me atm. If you know it's gonna be one of those 2 cards, just google for reviews of the card with the games you wanna play and see how they both do. Alot of reviews I read featured both these cards, so it wont take long. But it will help in making your choice a little easier.

only games i play are source and cod4,so after reading some revews i think a 9600gt 1gb will breeze through these games, and at 75 quid is a good bargain,so once again thnx for your help guys :D
