One for the server bods

We are plagued by a wrecker on nKP (who insists on calling us Dead Queers Racing. :angry: ) that we can't ban or kick because nKP doesn't have that facility. nKP server logs don't record IPs. We have a pretty good idea who it is but proving it is tricky. What we'd/I'd like to do is find his IP address. Now this guy uses several demo accounts and if we can tie these together, compare them with our suspects IP we can then threaten him with...oh I don't know...evisceration maybe :g: Somebody suggested Ethereal, I looked at it and blanched. Can you help? We're desprit. :sad:

Get me the IP and I'll block it on the firewall.

Alternatively next time he is on, all log off the server and I can then check active connections for the server and grab the IP that way. Will need to know a time though!

That's the problem, we can't get the IP. He doesn't arrive by appointment unfortunately. Tell me what to do and I'll grab his IP. Don't say look at the server logs though.

BB will be more familiar with the server setup than me so hopefully he can grab that for us.

I don't think he'll be any more familiar with the nKP server than I am. Would I be correct in saying that it's not possible to get IPs of people visiting our 'domain' be it forums/servers etc. except through game logs?

A quick look through the nkp logs shows that it records this sort of info:

*Sigh* I wish. That's why I'm asking if there is a way of gathering IP addresses other than game logs. THEN we can compare the IP with the IP of our suspect and blackmail him. I don't know of any other way of explaining it. If there is no way other than server logs then we'll have to live with this ar_sehole untill such time as the devs come up with a ban/kick system. I wouldn't mind but it's just one guy out of all the people that use nKP.

Has he registered for the forums to get a password?

Not with any name we would recognised. Not that he's joined the passworded server. If he did I would be encouraged that we'd get him.
