This is going a little too far, don't you all think? I made a flippant post in that thread as well, not realising that it was in the "Seriously though" forum,, until I read Sadako's post, but, c'mon, all this weeping and gnashing of teeth?

In mitigation to everyone's conscience, one doesn't expect a "Hair Gel" post in that particular forum, and presumably, none of the posters who flippantly (NOT mindlessly!) commented realised that this was "SERIOUSLY THOUGH".

As Pen said, its all a learning curve. Everyone makes mistakes from time to time, let's get over this one without too much more self-flagellation.

My point (to why I posted that people should stay on topic) is that the section should be free from flippant remarks or banter irrespectively of what topic is asked. If we have some sliding scale within that forum section depending on the topic we will have havoc in no time. Also who would decide what topics are ok to make flippant remarks about? Please don't even consider to go down that route.

If I post a question in that section I want to be spared from the banter and pointless smiley/image posts that regularly show up in many of the forum threads. Either the forum section is what it is supposed to be or we can just close it down discuss in banter instead.

Agree with Mats regarding the "Seriously Though" section.... I admit to not noticing what section it was in but then again rarely look.
