Tirkad

Hi there!

Who are you?
Last time i checked, i was a human male, named Francesco irl.
Where are you from? Italy.
How old are you? 25.
What kind of work do you do? I study telecommunication engineering.
What kind of internet connection do you have? 20Mb ADSL.
What are the core specs of your computer? 2GHz+ Intel processor, 128 Mb Ati Video card, 1,5 GB Ram.
How long have you been playing computer games and what kind? I play computer games since i was about 9. At that time i used to play Civilization on Amiga 500. After a couple of years, and 2 monkey islands later, i begun playing my addiction: the Warcraft serie. And i thought i just got out alive from Dune 2... lol.
What kind of raiding experience do you have? In TBC, i used to raid with the Loyalists, we got to Teron Gorefiend before patch 3.0 came live.
What other guilds have you been in and why did you decide or were forced to move on? I've been for almost one year in the Lemmings of the Light, but i left when they told me they weren't interested in going further with the progress, since they wanted to farm kara to gear the alts. I applied to the loyalist then, and got there with my rl friend Silpharion. After some months, the loyalist collapsed and then WotLK came live. I've joined the Time Walkers, but i want to get out, since is a very disorganized guild, mostly intented in farming naxx for the next years...
Do you actively play any alts that we could find you in in case we need to contact you? I actively play 3 characters: Tirkad (lvl 80 holy paladin, main), Bulgari (lvl 80 Resto shaman) and Desade (lvl 77 levelling warlock).
What are your plans for the game?In what way would you like others to know you? Tell us about your personality, and why you enjoy the game. What i like most in games, is the challenge and all that comes from it. I like this game becouse it offers lots of challanges, even more since the achievements were introduced. I'd love to see as many content as possible, and enjoy them with friendly people, who like to laugh and joke on chat and ts when not focusing on fights. I know how "hardcore" environment is, and i found it very irritating. In fact, lots of "hardcore" guilds collapsed becouse of the unfriendly environment.
Name one thing you don't like about WoW in its current state. As i said in the previous question, the thing i most dislike in actual wow is the unfriendly environment you can find in some guild, it makes impossible for me to enjoy this wonderful game.

Your character

Please link to your armory profile.
http://eu.wowarmory.com/character-sheet.xml?r=Aszune&n=Tirkad I'm the only Tirkad in the armory =)
Why did you decide to play this class? I decided to play this class becouse i always enjoyed, in every other rpg game, the support class. So the choice was among the healers. I've taken the paladin becouse at that time, i was proud of my diablo 2 paladin =)
What do you think your class' role is in raid content? There's a lot to say here, but to keep it short, the main role for an holy paladin is to keep tanks alive, and with the recent addition of the Beacon of Light spell, two holy paladins using cross beacons on 2 tanks can be effective like 4 healers, if the tanks keep getting damaged.
Comment on your build. Why did you choose it? What do you think of other builds of your class? Why didn't you choose one of those? (important question) Ok, i'll need a few lines here. I've chosen my spec becouse i was aiming to the most raid utility (best blessings and crit buff on judgements for dps), and of course the spell crit bonus on the retri tree was welcome too. There's lot to say about the paladin specs, but let's say that this is the spec i play the best, and i built it on my experience of the class (i've always played holy as main spec, i've even levelled it holy). There's another spec that i judge complementary to mine, and it's based on the improved devotion aura talent. Ideally, with 2 paladins specced this way, one using devotion and one using consacration the raid will have the best benefits. I'm not commenting the other roles, becouse i've never played them more than a couple of weeks.

This guild

What do you look for in a guild?
I mainly look for a friendly environment that allows me to enjoy this game with nice people who like to joke and laugh, but can focus when it's needed. I'm aware that other people are playing with me, and i give my best to not waste any of their time. Do not misunderstand: I do not mind wiping, if it's constructive and helps the guild to progress further and learn from the mistakes done.
''Dead Men Raiding'' - What comes to mind when you see that guild name?
A Stephen King WoW parody. Really. =P
There are other guilds on the server, why did you apply to us?
I was discussing with Silpharion about the chance of the existence of a friendly guild who is serious about progress, and how much i would like to be part of it, and he suggested me to apply here.
Who do you know in Dead Men Raiding? How do you know them? I don't think i know anyone in DMR, and, as i said before, Silph told me about you.
Have you read our 'what we look for' and 'philosophy' posts? What do you think of them? That's one of the main reasons i'm writing here. I haven't found something to disagree with.

Annoying questions

A guildie says something you find offensive, what do you do?
Cake or Pie?
Nice question. Since it's happened to me some times before, i can say that there are many situations:
a) The offensive thing is said against me. In this case i politely make the offender notice that i have not enjoyed his comment. If he keeps insulting, i signal the behaviour to an official.
b) The offensive thing is said against someone else. If the thing is really offensive (and i've said really, becouse sometimes they're just old rl friends acting like they usually do in rl), i try to politely make the offender notice my point of view, but i will not insist further. If the offended person does not mean to discuss it, i respect his/her choice.
